100 Years Blanket explores the relationships and dynamics of the textile world through bio-textiles made with household waste. The screens display a live feed of the stock flows of a publicly traded elite sportswear company, visualising the invisible capital flows that power textile innovation. Weaving together human history through domestic imagery of the home and industrial visualisation of capital flows, the blanket presents textiles as an invisible technology that serves us both economically and emotionally. In an era of cutting edge research, it questions who these modern textile discoveries serve to benefit and invites us to consider why and how we innovate.
